Key tracker/finder app that actually works

I'm on my second electronic key tracker/finder with an Android app Bluetooth function, Pebblebee, and it's even worse for failing to work properly than the first one I tried, Tile (sport.) In both cases the app simply doesn't work, usually not "finding" the key tracker at all, just continually saying it last saw the device a long time ago. In the case of the present Pebblebee, even when it successfully buzzes the tracker on my keys, the app doesn't "find" it/show it as found. I press the button to stop the buzzing and the app continues to say the device was last seen a few months ago.

The ratings for the Pebblebee app are very low and lots of other app users are commenting with the same kind of problems. This is despite the device having been successfully paired with my phone's Bluetooth when I got it and having worked from time to time.

Is there an electronic tracker out there that actually works with Android and works properly?

(PS I read on one web page that some of these apps might struggle to "find" the device in a place with a lot of competing signals. We live in an apartment where I can always see lots of other bluetooth devices when I check for Bluetooth devices to connect to. There are also lots of WIFI signals around us in the building. I don't know if that has anything to do with the bluetooth-dependent app being unable to "see" the tracker. You would think that when I go out with my keys, phone and keys in close proximity to each other, the app might then "find" the key tracker but it does not.)

Voice call dialing

Hi Dannydet,
Unfortunately this is not what I am looking for. I do not need ringtones. What I need is the capability to record my own voice sample, link it to any entry in my contact list and when I want to initiate a call, dial the number to which my voice sample has been linked when I pronounce the same voice sample. But thanks for trying to help.

Chair o' bed bugs

The current trucking company I work for has about a dozen terminals located around the country, several of these are training centers. Because of over flow, several people got sent to a local motel until space at the terminal open up.
The people who stayed at the motel ended up bringing bed bugs back to the terminal. They ended up trashing all the mattresses, sheets and blankets, the dorm area was sealed up and the heat was blasted for several days.
From my understanding the company gave each person effect by the bed bug incident $200-$300 to replace clothes and other items
Because all clothing and any thing else that could be taken on a truck was scrapped
Everything accept phones and electronic stuff
I was lucky and wasn't there, I arrive about three weeks after the incident .

Help Android forums is convuluted.....

I totally understand what you're saying, but technically it already is on the homepage since the sidebar has all the links that the quick jump has. On mobile they each take one click to reveal the same links. So it's kind of redundant.

What's New should really be in the sidebar.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm saying. There should be a "What's New" no matter where you go.

Unable to restore phone content from USB drive using Samsung Smart Switch

My old S8+ had been undergoing repetitive crashes whenever restarted. Due to what seemed to be a battery failure. In anticipation to the worst to come I backed up the content of my S8+ onto a USB stick and performed a factory reset with the hope that the battery problem would be resolved for good. To no avail. So I bought the new A70 and you know what happened next...

Quick Find & Removal of Images from SMS/MMS

That 'SMS & MMS Search and Delete' app looks pretty interesting but apparently it's not available in the Google Play Store so it requires one to download the apk and sideload it. Just an off-hand caveat as that's a minor security issue to consider. But yeah, it does seem odd that there doesn't appear to be even some equivalent in the Play Store.

But just add to the reply @Dannydet made, if you don't have a good backup solution in place you really should set one up now. Don't rely on your mobile device's internal storage, or even a microSD card, for any kind of long-term archiving.
An app like 'SMS Backup & Restore' will allow you to back up your text messages and phone call log, and make it easy to do a restore if necessary or transfer if migrating your data to another device.

The Google Photos app is a basic photo manager (like Gallery) but includes a backup & sync function, that will automatically backup your photo library into your online Google account.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.photos&hl=en_US
Whenever you need to access your photos you can either use the app on your device or use a web browser by going to:
https://photos.google.com
and access them using the web interface. Or you don't need to use the Google Photos app as your photo manager, use whichever app you prefer, the important aspect being to have that backup function enabled.

Android pie update v40

I found a setting that will keep updates from automatically installing once it's downloaded. Its in Developer Options. If you don't have developer options turned on go to software information and tsp on Build Number 7 times. Then go to Developer options and scroll down to Automatic Software Updates. Turn off "Apply updates when system restarts". At least that will give you time to stop the update.

LineageOS 15.1 System UI crashes when tapping on app in App Switcher

I took a full log of Android from Developer Options. If anyone can identify why the System UI crash is happening, I'd be more than happy.

Here's a link to Ubuntu Pastebin, since Android Forums gives me "a security error": https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/RXZTSh5F54/

Why is locked screen notifications not working?

Hello guys!

I have an issue with locked screen notifications.
When my screen is unlocked i receive notifications with no issues but as soon as the screen is locked i don't receive any notifications or even hear a sound if i received any message from any app, for example WhatsApp is working fine when screen is unlocked but when it's locked i don't get any notifications.

Android system: Lollipop 5.1
Phone model: Philips Xenium V787

I've tried the following solutions but none of them worked out:
- Settings> Sound & notification> Notification> When device is locked> Checked "Show all notification content".
- Checked app notifications in phone settings.
- Advanced Wi-Fi> Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep> Checked "Always"
- Reset WhatsApp notifications.
- Reinstalling WhatsApp.
- Cleared partition cache from recovery mode.

What I've noticed is that Gmail notifications work fine, even when screen is locked i still hear a notifications sound whenever i receive an email but for the rest of the apps, i don't receive any notifications at all unless the screen is unlocked or the app is opened.

Would appreciate your suggestions to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

USB Detection problems

I cannot get my laptops usb to pick up and access my tablet - it charges it, that is all
Something I forgot to ask you: why do you want to connect via cable? There are other ways to connect that don't involve any physical equipment. Since charging is not your objective, you don't need a cable.

I use Airdroid, which is an excellent app that gives you complete access to your Android device from a computer. You might want to take a look and see if it would work for your objective.

I wanna create samba client for android

Just a random comment but a lot of third-party file manager apps already include their own integral SMB/CIFS support, plus Google released its own implementation for Android a couple of years ago, you can peruse through (and download the source code) its GitHub page here:
