+1 that was going to be my next post. Show both post count and likes. Trophy points are clearly not indicative of anything useful as I noticed within this thread alone that @codesplice and @Slug have oddly low totals there when I know beyond the shadow of a doubt they've helped hundreds/thousands of users here for many years running.

In fact, a show of hands for doing away with the trophy system altogether? Its redundant to likes which are more indicative of usefulness.

Or even 'Best answers'?
I wouldn't say that 'likes' are as indicative of someone's usefulness in the forum, but it depends on your definition of usefulness I suppose.

Well done to all those involved in producing the new look forum, must have taken a lot of hard work.

Two things on thread lists:
  1. Last post / Last post time stamp - under the old system there was a timestamp of the last post that if you clicked you went to the last post of the thread. This was handy for threads you have already read but want to add something to the end. The link to the last post doesn't necessarily need to be the timestamp of the last post, but some way to quickly navigate to the end of the thread would be nice.
  2. Read / Unread thread differentiation is a bit harsh. It just seems to me that threads that are read could still be blue instead of black. The threads with unread content stand out enough being both bold and having the blue dot that navigates you to the first unread thread.

I like having the option of having a toggle for the with, but it seems to mess with the layout of the favorites. I haven't browsed all of the forum in with it toggle on (narrow?) to see if it affects other areas. See below.

This is how it looks by default:

If I hit the toggle width button (located ate the bottom left of the page for those that haven't found it yet)...

...I get this jumbled display of my favorites. As I said, I'm not sure if it affects other areas of the forum, but it makes a mess of favorites for sure.

Quick Question.... how many posts are listed here? .. It might just be that at the moment, it hasn't had enough time to catch up , but there doesn't seem to be any way to get onto the 'next' page of results.... and all of the filters seem to show about the same quantity of posts...

EDIT/UPDATE

It appears the "most recent" / "all" filter combo only lets me see up to 3 hours ago.... So It like those page controls aren't visible.

Also, can we have a timestamp for 'last updated ' as well as 'thread created' ?
This.

I don't do favorites and don't go in the individual forums, I just use unread/most recent and, well, there's only one page of them. I did compare to TapaTalk and there should be a lot more than just the ones showing. There should be more/next pages and then a break when I've seen all the new posts.

It's not a bad layout, I'll get used to it easily enough but do need more pages with more recents/unread posts to read :)

edit: Oh and, I seem to have to tab back or go back to home to get back into recents? It's not an option on every page (it used to be), so that's sort of a pain...

Ah, I wasn't understanding the problem until you explained it. This is a big problem.

OK, so for getting back to the recents list, that's OK, clicking 'Home' seems to take me there. Buuut, is there a way to show unread instead of recents? They aren't the same thing really. Recents shows stuff I've just read, I don't need to still see it. Before there was an unread tab and when I hit unread I just got...unread.

edit: oh and again, after I've read the thread and click it again (from recents, even though it shouldn't be there 'cause I want only unread :p ) it doesn't take me to the end but rather the beginning. I have to click last page and then page down to the bottom. Not handy or quick.

agreed ;)

Thanks for clarifying what I meant.

In general I like the new layout... Even the bits I'm not sure about I can live with, and performance seems fine....

Surprisingly, I think you could even pry me away from tapatalk all together....

BUT THE BIG SHOWSTOPPER IS THE LACK OF A BUTTON TO SHOW ME ALL THE POSTS THAT I MISSED SINCE I WAS LAST LOGGED IN.

It only shows me a small fraction.

Like Clementine I browse that list till I see something that looks interesting, even if I don't own that particular device or use that particular app.... If I have to browse individual forums, then it's not going to work for me....

Tapatalk still seems to show the list, so I'm assuming it's something that can be added to the design, without rebuilding the entire foundations and digging up the new swimming pool.....

Having said that, I can see why you have been so excited for so long.... Nice work

Looks great so far! ....where would a visitor ask a question? its not very obvious to me..the search box at the top needs a bit more instruction next to it perhaps.

Looks like the Android Questions and Android Lounge have been merged with that posting questions to the Android Lounge. Oh, that's on the right hand side of the homepage.

edit - refresh and I was able to clear

edit2 - every time I load on a browser without and ad blocker i have to refresh the page in order to clear the ad.

Hey @Phases, @Rob, there is a pretty big bug for new / unregistered members. I can't get to the homepage because the X to close the full screen Verizon add doesn't close the add.

I'm stuck on that screen.

Might have found the reason - it looks like some people are missing trophies. @codesplice is missing at least one trophy, the Android Addict one, and maybe more.

I am missing Android Addict and Limelight, and maybe more.

I agree that users should have post count and likes under their avatar, the date they joined also.

EDIT: corrected mistake :)

It seems odd that trophies award points rather than the other way around.

Also, yes, I am Captain Awesome.
