For anyone that runs across this thread, the solution is this:
1. Install SMS Backup & Restore app
2. Backup all your SMS messages (and call logs if you want)
3. Use a program where you can select all messages in one tap like Chomp SMS and delete them all. Note that you will lost any messages...
Wondering if any developers here can confirm the following:
On virtually all Phone / Call apps, you'll see the Caller ID Name for incoming calls (where the name isn't blocked, or the number isn't in your Contact list). I get semi-frequent scam/sales calls and they are all from numbers that no...
Android 11 (Samsung Note 20 Ultra). I'm finding I'm not noticing a lot of notifications recently because on my Lockscreen, if I have 2 or more notifications, a lot of time all I see is the most recent one. I'm 53 and can use my phone without reading glasses but I'm now noticing these very very...
Running Chrome on Android 11 (Samsung Note 20 Ultra). When I change the download location to SD card, it sucessfully downloads the file to the Download folder on the SD card and shows the message it completed at the bottom of chrome where you can click to open it.
HOWEVER, it always shows a...
Is there a camera app that works well with the Note 20 Ultra cameras and shoots RAW only and can save to SD Card? I'd be happy if I could just get RAW Only and save to internal. The problem is my Amazon Photos app syncs all my photos to the cloud and I hate that I get duplicate photos (JPEG...
I tried lots of spam blocking apps, pretty much all of them. I found that HiYa (making it the default phone app) combined with YouMail (making it the default Caller ID app) gave the best results.
Now I just learned the Google Phone App now has a Spam Blocker and a new feature called "Verified...
I know there are a lot of other frustrated users in my shoes. Here's the problem. More and more people these days are using their phone to take photos. And those people typically have the Google Photos App which automatically uploads your photos to your Google Photos.
It used to be there was...
Ran across this WAPO article. "The 5G lie: The network of the future is still slow" Very well written, comprehensive and easy to understand. The carriers just don't want Holiday Shoppers reading this. Hits the nail on the head!
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/09/08/5g-speed/
I've used all the carriers over the years and 3 years ago settled on Verizon because it had the best coverage outside of cities. Seems like Tmobile in the past really concentrated on building their network in cities and marketing to mainly urban customers. When I'd get into some of the outer...
I have the Samsung Factory Unlocked version of the S20+ (model SG-M986U1). This means the phone is not carrier-specific, it works on all carriers (CDMA, GSM) and supports both millimeter wave (Verizon 5G Ultra Wide UW) AND lower frequency band 5G (usually called Sub 6). The 5G UW super fast...
Okay, I understand (what many others don't) that although the S20+ is listed as a 3X-30X zoom, the actual optical zoom is 1.08 so the focal length of the actual lens is basically the same as the non-zoom camera. This is unlike say the S10 5G which the actual lens of the camera is 2X. However...
I'm considering porting my cell number to my Google Voice account to use the Google Voice Call Screener app. I have a few questions for other Google Voice user's that have done this.
1) I assume when you do so, your cell carrier automatically give you a new number when the port completes...
I noticed on my new phone it comes with the resolution defaulted to 2280 x 1080 (FHD+) but it can be set to WQHD+ (3040 x 1440). My understanding is you use a bit less battery when using a lower resolution.
So if I'm not playing games, or watching 4K videos, is there really any reason to use...
I'm about to do my once every 2 year phone upgrade. Been on Android last 12 years. My days of rooting my phone are long gone. Don't have time. I know Google will automatically download and install all my apps based on my Google account login. But if I recall, on non-Google apps that don't...
