The place I moved to has terrible T-Mobile coverage so before I switch to a different provider... I was wondering if there is an app or something that will enable me to send and receive calls and texts via wifi using my regular phone number?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)...

It was brain-dead easy to add or edit contacts with my former Galaxy S Vibrant (rooted) but my current (non-rooted) Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket i727 with Android 4.0.4 won't let me add or edit a contact!

I just bought a used T-Mobile G2X and I can't hear anyone during a phone call unless I use my earphones or click the "Speaker" button but apparently they can hear me. And yes, I do have my phones volume up. This phone is NOT rooted. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Thank you very...
Specifically what is it that makes a smartphone a global phone? Is it just a smartphone with a sim card so you can swap out the sim card while traveling? Does that mean any smartphone with a sim card is a global phone?
Thank you.
I would like to know which carrier has the widest coverage for the lowest price and does NOT care if you tether your phone a lot...and even if you don't have their more expensive data plan?

1) Should I root my Asus Transformer, and if so, why should I root it?
2) What is the downside to rooting this?
Thanks :)
Steve
I've been testing an Asus Transformer and an iPad 1 and plan on keeping only one of them. I like the openness of the Android but the external speaker is too quiet for watching Netflix movies and doesn't sound nearly as good as the iPad unless you are wearing headphones.
Watching Netflix...
Just bought a 32gb Transformer and the volume is too low for watching Netflix movies. I see a couple paid-for "volume booster" apps and was wondering if they work?
