I called T-Mobile customer service to check my status and they said the G1 is on back order. I wonder if some people relieved they order already.

I have absolutely no "real" information here, but technically, they are all on "back order", I think.

We ordered them, before they are able to ship them....

I dunno why the rep told you it was "back ordered". I suppose he/she just didn't really understand the situation.

I called yesterday to confirm my order, and she was very helpful to me... very friendly, etc.

They will have more on the day of launch. I think they allotted 400,000 for pre-order.

I just called TMO to check on my confirmation email, since I have not received it and the guy told me they have not run out, and though I have not received a confirmation email, my order went through just fine. yeeeaaahhh!!!

I just received a call from t-mobile and she said I should get my G1 on the 22th or BEFORE ;) This is good news...... I can't wait !

Humm... Four Hundred Thousand you say?

All arriving on the same day.

All attaching to the brand new T-Mobile 3G network

All trying to activate, surf, etc.. using that same network.

Why do I get the feeling we are in for an Obi Won Kenobi moment as hundreds of thousands of voices cry out and are suddenly silenced.

I spoke to a rep yesterday to change the delivery address. He said several of the 1st day orders are filled, but mine is backordered, yet I've not received email or text regarding a delay. s'frustrating

RIGHT. Backorder means an order that cannot be filled or shipped, but is requested nonetheless for when the item becomes available again

this is the case here thats why we pre-order
