    Root [ROM]Cyanogen Mod 6 Nightly

I've heard this ROM is right around the corner for Evo users. I have not been able to find out too much information about it. Seems to be stock froyo with tweaks, correct? If everything works this might be the ROM I've been waiting for.

Why wireless N been confirmed yet?

The official notes for today's update have been released. Engadget reports "still don't have confirmation on whether improvements to WiFi performance means 802.11n." Some one with an 802.11n only router try to connect. :p

    Nexus One news/weather widget!

I've been looking for a simple yet powerful weather widget for quite sometime. (I don't need goofy weather animations.) The N1 news/weather widget is exactly what I was looking for, and it runs great on the Evo. The included app is also very nice, I like seeing a graph of temp change over time...

"Update Profile" what does it do?

Under System Updates, along with firmware and PRL there's "Update Profile." Being curious, I clicked on it. A minute or so later it confirmed the update had finished. Simple question, what did it do?

    HTC working of Wifi fix

I emailed HTC about the weak signal wifi issue and received a response today. Take this with a grain of salt. Here's a direct quote below: "Thank you for taking the time to contact HTC America Technical Support via E-Mail with your concern about the wi-fi signal of your HTC device. I...

Two problems I'd like to see resolved

It's so hard to nit-pick at an already amazing phone. This is my best phone to date and I hope it will only get better. First issue, 30FPS cap. There has been a lot of debate on whether this was intentional to save battery life, and if this will ever be fixed in a firmware update. I really...

Weird error message when I start browser.

When ever I launch the browser, more specifically google.com I get this error message: The page at 'http://www.google.com' says: TypeError: Result of expression 'window['gp']' [undefined] is not an object. I don't recall this happening when I first bought the phone, but now the...

    Can users update the PRL?

Is there an easy way to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL) on Sprint? This can easily be done on Verizon by dialing *228. This does not work on Sprint however.

Employee discount does not go towards the $10 premium data?

Looking at my first bill from Sprint has me scratching my head. They only took 20% from the 69.99 Everything Data, and then added 10.00 for premium data. Is this right? I understand the employee discount won't effect the total equipment protection or taxes and fees, but surely the 10 dollar...

Help Switch to full-brightness when plugged in.

Is there a way to have the screen automatically switch to full-brightness when the Evo is plugged in? A reason for this would be for car navigation.

Help Will using wifi actually save battery?

Ok I'll admit it I've been watching Engadget's live blog of the iPhone 4 debut. Something interesting stuck out at me however. In one of the keynote slides, Jobs pointed out the iPhone actually gets better battery life while on wifi vs 3G. Normally I switch wifi off when I'm not using...

Help Lack of multi-touch keyboard, frustrating!

I'm sure there is a learning curve to the HTC/Android keyboard. I have an iPod Touch so I feel I have some bad habits to break. While typing fast I find I often miss the space key, (I hit the space but it does not register.) Upon closer examination I realized it has everything to do with lack...

Accessories Sprint silicone case (very nice)

I went to Sprint today to add insurance to my phone. The rep said they sold out of Evo by 11am launch day! They had a ton of accessories however and I picked up a black silicone case. Let me start by saying I'm not really a "case guy" especially silicone. But this case is thin, very thin. Has...

Is there a widget for that?

Is there a widget for sound profiles? I know I can create a shortcut for the "sounds and display" setting but it would be a lot easier if I can toggle say, normal, silent, and vibrate from a simple widget. Also I frequently have bluetooth devices connected to my phone. I've found a lot of...

    Sprint vs Best Buy's insurance

At Best Buy this morning the rep tried to talk me into BB's insurance over Sprint's offering. BB is more expensive 10 dollars vs 7. But there is no deductible and she made it sound like you can file a claim as much as you want. (Unlikely) Problem is they don't protect again lost or theft. Now...

    Bluetooth issue with car stereo

I have a Pioneer DEH-P7100BT head unit in my car (fairly new model.) Bluetooth always worked flawlessly with my blackberry phone. Issue with the Evo, I can pair the Evo with my stereo and I even get the call notifications on the LDC when my Evo rings, but the calls simply do not go through the...

Formatted SD card, where do you put video files?

Title says it all. On my formatted card I have a folder labeled, "Android" and another "LOST.DIR." There are a few sub folders in the Android directory but no clear place to put video files.

Root After root, how do you remove bloatware?

I'm new to android and the whole rooting process. I'm sure my question will be simple to answer. After I root my Evo how do I remove the bloatware sprint includes.

What happens after the 5GB data cap on 3G?

Pretty simple question since I'm new to both Sprint service and a data loving smartphone. I'm not in a 4G area, I'll primarily be on Sprint's 3G service. First of all, 5GB is a lot for anything we'd be doing on a phone, has anyone came close to hitting 5GB/mo? Also what happens after you...

    True spellcheck built in?

I know HTC's keyboard has a predictive text feature, but my biggest complaint with my iPod Touch is the iPhone OS lacks any true spellcheck. Does Android 2.1 or Sense have a spellcheck feature?

    Evo dummy phones on ebay

There's 10 or more just listed today by one seller. Reason to have one? I dunno, fool your friends, let the kids play with it, nerdy display piece, just maybe just for dummies like me.

    Atmel maXTouch sensor confirmed?

I've read numerous rumors of HTC using Atmel's maXTouch sensors in the Incredible and now Evo. I'm mainly interested in the "unlimited" touch capability. Is there an app that can demo this, a la "Multitouch Visible Test" ?

    Smaller (better looking) directional arrows.

If you haven't noticed already Endadget has posted some new hands-on videos. One thing I noticed from the demos was the more reasonably sized directional arrows on the keyboard. May not be a huge deal to most, but it sure looks a whole lot better.:o
