USB-C port limited to Quick Charge v1.0?

I think I read a couple places it's got quick charge 1.0, be interesting if it's actually got 2 or 3.

I just tried, with the C cable that came with the phone, charging with two fairly new, different brand power banks @ both 1a n 2.1a...with two different apps- Electron n Ampere.

Readings are practically identical ALWAYS:

Voltage 3.9x
Max Usb Current 2100mA
Fluctuates between
Min. 1300
Max. 1800

And charging with the phone off doesn't reproduce any Quick Charge label(like in the video), only the standard charging icon.

I was at Microcenter to buy other things to try but was put off by the pricing: $35-40 each for Usb C cable and Quick Charger 2.
Out of stock for Usb adapter heads n 3.0 chargers(this last not needed / worth it imo).
I can always return the items, so I'll try them next time.

I have a few blocks laying around I tried also using ampere app. Stock cord .. I tried the Motorola turbo brick. Averaged 1400-1800mah , Samsung gs7 white brick I was getting 2000-2100mah and the stock brick that comes with phone was the highest at 2100-2200.. think the cord possibly is stopping higher as they all said 2100mah max USB although the stock brick I did see go slightly above 2100. voltage was 3.8-3.9 also on all of em .

Amazon sells the block and usb c cord for qc 3.0 for 12.99 .. if it supports it there's a cheap charger to do it.

I think we need to try a charger/adapter that is branded as Quick Charge 3.0. The Qualcomm processor supports Quick Charge 3.0 and the 3.0 adapters are backward compatible, so if you plug in a 3.0 adapter and the phone only supports 1.0... it will charge at 1.0 speeds.

The GRAND XMAX 2 that ZTE released on Cricket supposedly supports Quick Charge 2.0. I don't know why they would limit the ZMAX PRO to just 1.0. If the chip supports 3.0 then what is preventing that Charge? The battery type?

I'll be doing the same eventually, trying quick charge 3.0 adapter, cables & mini adapters for reg micro usb...that way Im pretty good no matter what I do or where Im at/go.

I'll link to the chargers/cables whenever I get them to help my fellow zmax pro'ers out

The knowledge is out there as I'm sure there are zmax pro users who already own quick charge 2.0/3.0 capable charging blocks but I have yet to see any posts that shed light on the subject.

Does anyone here have a regular charger with a rated output greater than 2.1 amps? If you install Ampere it says that the max charging current the phone will accept is 2.1 amps but I've already gotten peak charging speeds of 2.29 amps with my old Samsung charger which is rated for 2.0 amps. I'm interested to see what kind of charging speeds we could get with a 2.5 or 3.0 amp charging block.

One thing I'm fairly certain of is that a quick charge 1.0 adapter probably won't make any significant difference in charging speed when compared to the charger that comes with the phone. It says on Qualcomm's web site that quick charge 1.0 has a max current of 2.1 amps @5.0 volts which is the same as the current output of the stock charging adapter.

Apparently, Quick Charge technology is supposed to utilize some sort of technique to charge faster than standard methods. How, exactly, is beyond me, but it should be somewhat quicker than a standard charger.

I really don't mind the kind of charging on this phone. I upgraded to the ZTE Zmax Pro from a Nexus 5, since it broke. The battery life is amazing, I can use it all day and at the end of the day it wouldn't even be at 40%, it would be in the mid 50s. Charging is nice too, with the stock charger it only takes over an hour to fully charge for what? A full days use would only bring the battery down to 50% for me. So I have zero issue with how fast it charges.

My thoughts exactly. I don't have the Pro yet but when I had the first Zmax that's how I was. I just charged it overnight and forgot about ever recharging it again for the rest of the day. While I have the Stylo, charging is more of a factory since it may not last all day. If I go to Disneyland where I'm gonna be out for almost 16 hours, and I'm using the phone for the maps and looking up dining on and off, I'll have to bring my external battery with me. I didn't have to use the battery pack for my Zmax at all.

I'm worried that the usb c adapter head slows things down.

I've done some testing between the stock charger vs a qc2.0 charger (aukey certified qc2.0 5v2.1a) using stock cable for both, and it seems stock charger does go faster which is odd.
stock charger vs qc2.0 in ampere

stock charger eta time vs qc2.0

The qc2.0 on the right does say AC but, when you connect it for the first few minutes it does indicate fast charging

I just quickly tried a new MPow Quick Charge 2.
Differences noted:
- Max intake remains identical.
- HOWEVER, charging is faster / intake stays closer to maximum @ more prolonged time.
- Charging @ phone off now returns Quick Charging label.
- Results identical BOTH with original Zmax C cable and with provided MPow cable + separate Tronsmart adapter head.

Quick conclusions:

- Original zmax charger is the holdup.
- phone charges at 1.0 speed, not 2.0

i feel like its the stock cable limiting the speed on a 2.0 charging brick? need to find a quality usb type c cable, along with a actual 2-3.0 brick. also i know like the nexus 5x the type c cord has the same type c plug on both ends. were as the zte its only on one end, maybe the regular usb end that plugs into the brick is slowing the speeds down?

I think this phone only has Quick Charge 1.0,
Qualcomm would charge more for v2, even if it only entailed coding change.
And the accessories would also cost zte more.
