Android 10, Good & Bad

According to many internet websites, LG has announced which phones will be getting Android 10. The good news is our LG V40 is on the list. The bad is the update is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of this year.

However, all the websites say the same thing. Remember, patience is a virtue.

It's an LG. For the last few years they have been pretty consistently the slowest major OEM at releasing updates.

10 is just gonna be something new to have to re-learn. On the plus side will be built in system wide dark mode.

That's why I buy feature-filled phones that tick all the boxes for me right out of the box. I don't have to wait for an OS update that may or may not bring features that I find useful. To me the changes are often incremental: you swipe here instead of tapping and so on. Then you run the risk of losing an option you liked and have grown accustomed to. I'm more than happy with the way my phone runs now but I'll do what I always do with these new updates: decline to download it until the bugs are worked out.
