Help Gallery/Audio issue

I have a droid x with the gingerbread software.....when I save an audio file from like a text message it used to save as an mp3 file. Now when I save an audio file it saves as a QCP file. I have to go rename the file as MP3 from QCP. How do I stop this from occurring.

I also get a gray mountain icon in the gallery when I view thumbnails....i used to be able to view the pictures but no longer can. Any suggestions!?!
