Help recovering photos

So my zte vital on virgin mobile has a broken digitizer and lcd screen. It turns on but the screen is all black. I need help recovering my photos to transfer to my new device. The photos are on the internal sd card. Plugging it into my computer it recognizes there's and android and I have all the drivers. Unforntualy I did not have USB debugging enabled so it doesn't show up as a storage device. Can someone help me enable USB debbugging or some over form of getting my photos back. Ive heard you can force enable it with adb. I have sdk and adb, but
it's not connected with my phone and
I'm not sure how to connect it and after that how to enable USB debbugging
