How to scan for bluetooth devices and store details?

I would like to display a simple list of device names, in Python this was easy, but i'm unsure how to do this in java...

Question#1:
How do I go about storing text into an array?

Question#2:
How do I scan for discoverable bluetooth devices and append their details to the array?
