Music cuts off

Hi,

I have been using the headphones I got with my Xperia S (Sony MH650C) with my Z1 Compact. Just this last week, my music keeps cutting off for no particular reason.

Is anyone else using headphones other than the ones that came with the phone and not having a problem?

Is there any reason (ie jack design) that the MH650C's shouldn't work with the Z1 compact?

My partner also has this phone and her cassette tape adapter for her car, it also won't work with this phone. This suggests something up with the headphone jack

After sending my Xperia S back to Sony twice for repair I really can't be doing with having to send this phone back to them!

Anyway my phone wasn't responding when I was trying to wake it up by pressing the power button, so I shurt it down and since turning it back on the audio, touch wood, has been fine since.
