Odd - can see photos on screen but not in file manager

Our LG Optimus V has 300+ photos in it that we can see with the Camera and Gallery apps. We can email them. We can't see them under DCIM/Camera, nor do they show up in when we do a search in File Manager for either .jpg or .jpeg And no, they weren't all backed up to external SD or the PC. Yeah, yeah, lesson learned.

We know they're jpg - that's the file type they download as from email. Any wizards out there that can help?
