Question on voicemail notifications

Hello all. I've just moved from Orange to Three, using a Nexus 5 on three. When I was on Orange, If someone left me a voicemail, I'd get an Android notification that there was a message waiting, and I could just click on the announcement which would automatically dial the voicemail service. Now I'm on Three, if I get a voicemail, I get a text message, telling me to dial 123 to listen to it. How come three voicemail is not as integrated with Android as Orange was? Is there something I need to set to make this happen?
