slow data speeds on pixel xl

Hey guys, thought I'd give it a shot and see if anyone in here could help me because metro is useless as usual. I just got myself a pixel xl and the phone is awesome but my data speeds are not so great...I've tried tmobile apns, metro had me create a tmobile apn but the lady didn't give me the correct info so it didn't work at all. I looked up a tmobile apn and got it working but the speeds were still slow. I just got off the phone again and this time they had me create a metro apn...actually she just had me recreate a metro apn that I was on originally...still slow speeds. Does this phone just not get good speeds on this network or is this something on their end?
