The procedure is relatively straight forward. You'll need this file:

A Windows PC, and a piece of PC software called Odin, along with your original USB cable that came with the phone. This link is my guide to rooting a Galaxy Note 3. The procedure is identical, the only difference is you use Kies and not Kies 3 where mentioned. Any questions, as BRAINZ2013 has said nip back here to ask.
