Help USB Plugin Access from a PC, SCH-I800

I need some advice on accessing my tab via simple plugin USB cable to PC.

Plugging a USB cable from my PC to my Motorola Xoom gives me an instant pop up folder dialog, then all is there. But the Samsung Tab isn't quite so straightforward I see...

What is the first step? Visiting the Samsung website page for this tab displays no Drivers.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I think if you install the Samsung kies software on your computer the necessary drivers for the tab are installed as well

Looks like I already had Kies installed.

The Kies Troubleshooter reinstalls the drivers, but no connection.

Only the battery charges when plugged in.

Are you running Windows 7 on your PC? Prior to installing Kies on my laptop running Windows 7 Pro it detected that something had been connected through USB and it installed a driver automatically. Whether Kies is open or not, I get a pop up window when I connect my 7.7.
