Will the M9+ (China) or Butterfly 3 (Japan) function on any of the US carriers?

It's an au by KDDI phone, including both LTE and WiMAX 2 support - gotta love the Japanese. :)

au by KDDI implies that it's also CDMA.

Not surprisingly the original J Butterfly was easily stripped down to become the Verizon Droid DNA.

I'd used my Sprint phones on KDDI in the past but that was before the 800/850 MHz games so I don't know what they're doing there tbh.
