ROMs Android on non-android phone

Not to be too critical here @Tekshapers1, but the first paragraph of your blog is rather silly.

First, Windows never shared in any domination of the smartphone market. At best they might have had 3% (and that's being generous) but it's this specific lack of market share that caused Microsoft to discontinue the mobile program altogether.

And Nokia only partnered with Microsoft in 2011 after they were unable to retain market share with their SymbianOS phones.

But don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. ;)

There is a way of making Windows a big player in the smartphone market, but you need to pick not just the country (which people commonly don't specify) but the year. I expect that the best time might be somewhere around 2006-8. In 2006 the iPhone hadn't yet been released (that didn't happen until mid 2007, and even then it was US-only), no Android devices were available (the HTC Dream was released late 2008), and so the smartphone market was dominated by Symbian, Blackberry and Windows Mobile in that order (not the later Windows Phone, which wasn't introduced until late 2010, by which time the game was over really), with Symbian by far the dominant platform.

The most interesting thing is how far from reality the commonplace story of the iPhone becoming instantly dominant was. In fact its sales only overtook BlackBerry at the start of 2011, 4 years after its launch, by which time Android already outsold it more than 2:1. In fact what people tend to forget is that Android only overtook Symbian sales at the end of 2010.

The only way you'd get Windows Phone as a dominant player would be if you restricted your demographic to Microsoft employees in 2013. Even then it might be a stretch.

First you must limit the data by restricting it to "smartphones" only, when the vast majority of cellular users had what we call "feature" phones. Then you must redefine 'smartphones' using the iPhone paradigm. And, then apply it to the data prior to the existence of iPhones (or Android phones) ... you know I think this could work.

As Mark Twain* liked to say ... There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

*Twain has been erroneously attributed with the phrase but he himself erroneously attributed it to Benjamin Disraeli. Origin of the phrase is unknown.

Android phones are always considered better than windows phones. There are many factors responsible for it like operating system, security, user interface, handsets, apps & customisation

@Tekshapers1 just curious as to why you decided to remove that blog link?

Its hasn't been removed from the Tekshapers website? So presumably Tekshapers still think the blog is "representative of the quality of the Tekshapers organisation"

(Which is worrying)
