Changing OS of Moto 7 Power xt2041-4

I bought my unlocked Moto Power 7 about a month ago.

My phone plan is with T-Mobile $100/1000 Min/year
(ancestored).

I linked the phone to my wifi and found that it updated
from Ver 9 to 10 without asking for conformation.

I hate this upgrade. I hate Version 9 but it was better
than 10.

I've not determined how to revert to 9. In fact, I'd
like to revert to version 7.

Perhaps I could install Liniage but I don't see Moto
7 Power version xt2041-4 mentioned as a candidate.

Oh, the upgrade screwed some apps until I did a "cold boot"
by causing 5 times for the phone to shutdown. Then it seemed
to work without causing a problem.

Suggesitions welcome.

try a factory reset. i'm not familiar with your phone, but most phones will not allow backward flashing of older software updates.....so you might be stuck with what you have. a factory reset might help when you run into bugs that could be associated with either a bad download or a bad install.

and linegage is a custom rom in which the phone will need to be rooted.

Seems that my Moto Power 7 is actually a Power 8.

Versions xt2041-1. -3. -4 are all Power 8.

Why mine came in a box as Power 7 is a mystery.

I only use this phone for pcassopma; calls and occasional text, and the text app sucks.
The "swiping" to close an app doesn't always work, and I haven't found
a text app to work with this OS.
