Hi,

Being in a hurry, I have just executed a strange software update,
without looking much at what was to be installed. The dialog window
(quite different of usual dialog window for updates) mentioned
something about Kies but I didn't remember what it said.

As the update required phone start (I do not recall any update to
have required somethibng like this up to now) and during the five (5!
) minutes till I reached the pin screen I got a screen with 4
messages out of which the first was "not need checksum confirmation
already executed".

After the phone finally restarted I have checked whether Android
version or Kernel version were changed but this was not the case.

Now, I wonder whether is there any posibility for me to find out what
I had actually installed during this very peculiar "software update",
before getting my gmail account hijacked or other nasty surprise.

Can I ask Google Play / Samsung what just happened to my phone at
6.55 local time ? Or is there any log of the software updates made to
my phone ?

I should mention that both options "USB debugging" and "Installation
from unknown sources" were enabled :(

Thank you __very__ much for any of your suggestions.

Hello there, Florin--welcome to our AndroidForums! :).

I can't imagine that you received a non-kosher over-the-air (OTA) download.

I'm assuming you're running a stock, non-custom, non-rooted ROM (version of Android), correct?

If so, then the system update process would only be contacting and downloading from a known, valid OTA server. Additionally, the OTA download is a signed, secure file that can only be installed if it passed the signing verification tests (i.e., only known by the carrier/manufacturer).

I'm pretty sure you're okay :).

Those are just my thoughts and two cents about your issue--I don't have a Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 so I can't speak from personal experience with your device.

Hope that helps!

:)
