once you receive the OTA update for KitKat 4.4.2 you will be able to enable ART! what is ART you say? here's a lifehacker post to get you up to speed:

Android's ART vs Dalvik: Performance and Battery Life Compared

now that you know what ART is and feel as though it is something that you want, here are the instructions on how to do it:

1. go into settings>about phone.

2. then scroll down to "Build Number" and tap it a bunch of times. (just like for the Android version easter egg) each time you tap it, there will be a little pop up to tell you that you are almost a developer. once you tap it enough it will say you are a developer.

3. go back into the settings menu and you should notice that "Developer options" is now between "Printing" and "Activate this device". go into Developer options.

4. in Developer options you will see "Select Runtime". tap it and select ART. you will get a confirmation pop up, select OK. the device will reboot and it will take a while. so don't freak out! once it reboots it will "optimize apps", once that is finished you are running ART.

5. enjoy ART and all of its benefits!
