Home screen/button problems

I recently dropped my phone into water. I was able to save the battery and the rest of it, and it is working fine. The only problem it is giving me is that whenever I click the home button, it takes me to some default screen that isn't my personal home screen with all of my applications. The "default" screen is blue and it has a few shortcuts on the bottom. I have to repeatedly back out of all of my apps to get to my home screen. Help would be greatly appreciated!
