correct! It would turn the om into a paper weight.
Its not the same processor, the om is a msm7227 n the om+ is a msm7227a which are completely diff beast. The om wouldnt do 1.5Ghz if u strapped it to a f18 lol
I to am waiting for the patch for the WIFI issue, but love this kernel other than that issue. I am wondering if we are going to be able to get a CM9 Or CM10 on this phone if anyone has any insite to this would be great to hear!
In the meantime, y'all can just replace the 3 or so files in the zip with the original ones from your backup to use as a stock kernel flashable zip. That's what I did. It beats waiting for a backup to restore and your ROM stays updated. If you want to overclock, just flash the Plauge. If you want WiFi, just flash your edited zip. Simple enough.
not really sure how to install this, can anyone clarify? thank you in advance!
Edit: have done the steps that Playful god has given but for some reason i cant seem to find the boot in CWM

Hey just wondering if there has been any progress on this kernel. I flashed to my m+ as soon as it became available and have been enjoying it since. still it is kind of a pain to have to keep restoring my pre-plague backups every time I choose to do major downloads on WiFi... I also recall shabbypenguin mentioning something about possibly having a custom rpm out as soon as he kernel is out of beta. I have a suggestion for this ... in interest of making this phone worth something in the developers community, why doesn't the ROM get released with the stock kernel and later patch the ROM when the kernel is complete?? but aside from that, I appreciate the work that has been done so far and hope soon even better things Will be featured.
Here is the same flashable zip but with the stock kernel and other stock files. Flash this instead of having to restore your backup and you will have Wi-Fi again. It's much quicker. http://db.tt/6FKAbx6P
if u have a backup you can also do a advanced restore of the boot.img alone, backup & restore > advanced > restore > select your backup > select the boot.img.
Already have it downloaded and installed the only thing that seems to be the problem with it is still no wifi lol but the thing is still working great! Upon reboot it was noticeably faster
