Password fix? need help

hi. my J5 prime is unlocking without asking for a password.
ive currently set a pin security but pressing the home button opens my mobile without asking for the password.
ive tried changing the password
and restarting the mobile.
but nothing's workin
pls help.

There should be a setting to control how long the delay is between the screen turning off and a PIN/password being required. Have you set that to lock the screen instantly? If it's set to only activate the screen lock after a few minutes with the screen off that would produce what you are describing.

The home button on a J5 Prime is also the fingerprint sensor. Did you set it to recognise your fingerprints as well password unlock?

Do you mean that pin security doesn't work for unlocking screen at all?
