Help USB Issues following March Android / Windows 10 Updates

Yesterday i installed the latest Android security update for March and this morning, my Windows 10 computer installed some updates. Until now, when I plug my phone into my computer, Windows popped up a searching for images page and then, when I switched my phone to USB FIle Transfer mode, it appeared in Windows Explorer.

I just tried now and .. nothing. The phone wasn't recognised at all.

In device manager, I can see the Nexus 5X but the details say there's an issue with the USB driver. I searched for a driver but couldn't find one that the Windows would install.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

This is Microsoft for you. Windows 10 is forever updated and each update kills something. I've reverted back to 8 just to avoid any conflicts in Windows

I thought in this case it might have something to do with the Android update, given Google's announcement that this update closes all exploits the CIA has been using to access phones according to Wikileaks.

It's MS. Really. It uninstalled and/or broke USB debugging drivers with this update. You'll need to go into uefi to disable Driver Signature verification, then reinstall your drivers.
