What is your favorite type of chocolate?

so i was sitting here eating my dark chocolate covered pomegranates and i was wondering what everyone's preference in chocolate was.

mine is obviously dark chocolate

When I was a kid in Belgium they had Easter eggs (bunnies etc) that were triple layers of dark, milk and white chocolate. Awesome!

Don't know if you can still get them, but you can still get some pretty amazing chocolate in Belgium: there's a guy who thinks he's the Belgian Heston Blumenthal of chocolate who makes really novel flavours like Bacon or Hashish or Wasabe. Some are really good though I tend to prefer more traditional makers - my fav is a place called Tartufo in Leuven: cannot go to Belgium without a trip there!

Dark chocolate. It can be paired with almost anything but its got to be dark. I'll eat milk in an emergency or as a Reese's Peanut Butter shape (the shapes have more peanut butter than the cups).

I also like the Lindt with sea salt. Hershey's used to have a premium chocolate line (select, or reserve; something like that). They had a dark chocolate with bits of cacao in it that was awesome.

Gotta love the dark chocolate. My favorites include Reeses Dark Chocolate cups, Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt by Ghiradelli, and now I'm hooked on Nutuffles dark chocolate.

I'll eat them all but I prefer dark chocolate.

For me, the nicest chocolates I had was a box of disc shaped chocolates with high (at a guess they varied between 70 and 90) percentage of cocoa. They were arranged by country. They were all good but I thought Venezuelan chocolate the best of all.

As a young kid I did like Milky Bar but I think ones pallet changes as one gets older (and I'm in my 50s now). My own loves things like strong stiltons and cheddars that it probably would not have enjoyed say as a 10 year old. I still have a sweet tooth though but white chocolate can be one of those things that comes over to me as "sickly sweet" rather than "enjoyably sweet". I'll still eat it but prefer the darker stuff.
