Major Flaw In Android Phones Would Let Hackers In With Just A Text

Security firm Zimperium has announced they have found a vulnerability that affects Android versions 2.2 – 5.1 and can let attackers infiltrate devices with only a single text message. More details of the attack are said to be published in August, but the idea is to "open an attachment or download a file that's corrupt. . .the malicious code would take over instantly, the moment you receive a text message"

"The security of Android users is extremely important to us and so we responded quickly and patches have already been provided to partners that can be applied to any device."

Hopefully they can get these updates out as fast as they did with the 'factory reset protection' ones. Sounds like they haven't been implemented yet and we all know how slow OEMs and carriers can be to push out an update
