My Padres decide they want to win games now when it's too late.

I've determined that the Royals could have had a decent team this season. All they lacked was a bit better defense, livelier bats, some decent starting pitchers, a shut down bullpen, and better coaching.
Everything else was in place to make a deep run.

Padres got their first extra innings win of the season tonight against San Fran. Hard to imagine loosing a dozen extra inning games and then finally getting one.

If we would have won more extra inning games we would possibly be in the runnings.

It is crazy to be 0 and 12 and then finally win one. Even the Royals won a few extra inning games.

now that the Dodgers have clinched, i have been so wrapped up in work and football that i have not paid any attention to baseball. espn la radio hosts have been saying that going into this month they were worried about the playoffs, but after a strong august and a decent run in Sept, they are all saying that it is World Series or nothing.,,,,,,that's just crazy talk. they still have to go thru ATL to get to the WS.

i still think it is a long shot.

Getting to post season is the first hurdle. Getting to the series is a huge hurdle. Once there, anything can happen. The Dodgers are the only team out of AF's ball fans so I'll be pulling for them. It won't be an easy task but they are in... play ball!

I believe we start our last regular season series against the White Sox, if we lose any of the 3 games i think we are out.

The Padres are a game under 500. The odds of making it are not real good.

The Royals put up 9 runs on the Yanks in the bottom of the first.

The Royals Yanks game was fun to watch though there was never a question as to the outcome. A nine run first pretty much removed any drama. In the bottom of the 7th, Bobby Witt Jr hit his 30th home run of the season to become the first Royal to achieve the 30 homer 30 stolen base group. He has two games left to steal one more base to join the 30 50 club.

The Royals lost tonight... no surprise. Bobby Witt Jr. was on base twice, was caught trying to steal 2nd, and was an out in an inning ending double play. He just lacks one lousy stolen base to join the 30 50 club. I want it for him big time. Only one game left for him to get fifty stolen bases this year. Root for him please. He's just a big kid and is thrilled to be playing in the bigs. A lot of ball player on a very sorry team.

On my way home from i stopped by Round Table Pizza picked me up a Medium King Arthurs Special and went home and enjoyed some good Baseball, there were some good games yesterday.
